Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was full of praise for new signing Granit Xhaka ahead of the new campaign.
The Switzerland international became Arsene Wenger's first summer transfer after signing from Borussia Monchengladbach for an undisclosed fee.
He represented his country at the Euro 2016 Championship and is expected to be a key player in the Frenchman's squad this season.
And the Englishman believes that the 23-year-old will be an important asset for the Gunners.
"I've played against him a few times at youth level for England and also for the first team with England, so I know him quite well," Wilshere told Arsenal.com.
"I've always thought he was a good player, he's very strong and has got a good left foot. He's a leader, he can hold the midfield together and can get things going from back to front. He's a good signing."
