Arsenal and Roma are expected to reach an agreement for the permanent transfer of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in the next 48 hours, according to reports in Italy.
The 26-year-old knows that he cannot secure a regular place at Arsenal as long as Petr Cech is fit.
The former Czech Republic international enjoyed a very positive campaign at the Emirates last season and will certainly be Arsene Wenger's number one this season as well.
Meanwhile, Roma boss Luciano Spalletti says the Poland international will face competition from new goalkeeper Alisson this season.
"That's how it should be," he told Sky Sport Italy.
"Big clubs must have regular players who don't feature in certain games."
