Sky Sport Italy journalist Guglielmo Cannavale has revealed that Arsenal have made a £14 million offer to sign Djibril Sidibe.
Lille have accepted the offer made by the Gunners but they have opted to wait after Monaco made a better offer which includes a loan deal for 20-year-old Rony Lopes.
"After 16 mln Arsenal offer (accepted), As Monaco have made a new bid (16,5M and Lopes loan) and come back in pole position," Cannavale wrote on Twitter.
Sidibe joined Lille in 2012 and is a very versatile player who can play on both wings.
Last month, he confirmed that there is a "very big chance" of leaving the French side during the summer transfer window.
"Everything will depend on the project," he told L'Equipe.
"I'm open to everything but I'll have to think in terms of the Champions League, my game time, family balance and the financial aspect."
