Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Lille defender Djibril Sidibe, the Daily Star has revealed.
The 23-year-old was very close to joining Monaco but he opted to wait after the Gunners entered the race.
Arsenal have already held talks with Lille to understand how much they would have to pay to secure the services of the Frenchman.
Sidibe joined Lille in 2012 and is a very versatile player who can play on both wings.
Last month, he confirmed that there is a "very big chance" of leaving the French side during the summer transfer window.
"Everything will depend on the project," he told L'Equipe.
"I'm open to everything but I'll have to think in terms of the Champions League, my game time, family balance and the financial aspect."
