Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will sign a central defender during the summer transfer window, the Telegraph's Jeremy Wilson has revealed.
The Gunners have been linked with a possible move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly but recent reports have confirmed that the Senegalese will join Chelsea.
At the moment, Wenger's number one priority is to add a new striker to his offensive department after Jamie Vardy opted to sign a new contract at Leicester City.
Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette together with Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain have all been linked with a possible move to the Emirates although it seems the Spaniard would prefer a different destination and the other two are not for sale by their respective clubs.
Wenger will be delighted to know that defender Laurent Koscielny has enjoyed a very positive campaign at Euro 2016 but another quality centre back is needed if the Gunners are to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title.
