Arsenal and West Ham United target Alexandre Lacazette was omitted from Lyon's squad photo published on the club's official Twitter account.
In a photo posted two days ago, the striker was not with his teammates with many believing the reason is that he was given permission for extended holidays.
The Gunners shifted their focus to the 25-year-old after failing to deliver a winning bid to sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
Recent reports have claimed that Lyon want £45million for the striker, a fee that manager Arsene Wenger may not be ready to meet.
But on Wednesday, he has refused to rule out a move for the player.
"I neither confirm or deny interest," Wenger told Canal + Sport.
"If I say that I like the player it starts speculation."
