Arsenal have less than seven days to make a move for Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez.
The North Londoners have been told they must trigger the player's release clause by July 1 if they want to sign him.
Manager Arsene Wenger is renowned for making business early in the transfer window and a move to sign the 23-year-old will be done as early as next week if the Frenchman is determined to secure the services of the left-back.
Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has confirmed that the fee of the Swiss international will go up after the end of June.
"We are on the alert and we are prepared [to listen to offers]," Allofs told Kicker.
"They [Ricardo Rodriguez and Luiz Gustavo's fees] will not get cheaper, rather the opposite, [should other sides fail to trigger their respective release clauses].
"There is enough time to come to a decision during that period."
