Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante has been impressive so far at Euro 2016.
France will face the Republic of Ireland on Sunday after winning Group A of the competition.
West Ham United's Dimitri Payet stole the headlines but Henry believes 25-year-old Kante was the most consistent player in Didier Deschamp's squad.
"[Dimitri] Payet has not surprised me," Henry told the BBC.
"What I like about him is that he plays like it is his last ever game.
"Obviously he is getting all the press and he deserves it but for me the most consistent French player so far is N'Golo Kante.
"I think he is the guy who has surprised everyone in France. He is just outstanding. He is the first guy who stops everything and he is the guy also who starts the counter-attack."
