Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka opted to reply with a joke when asked how does it feel to have your shirt ripped twice.
Four jerseys were ripped during Switzerland's goalless draw against France on Sunday night which according to a Puma spokesman is the result of the final garment getting damaged by a combination of heat, pressure and time problems.
"I hope Puma does not produce condoms", Xhaka commented on the problem.
Breel Embolo added: "The kit manager is not fully ready yet, but we are".
In a statement, Puma explained: "There was one batch of material where yarns had been damaged during the production process, leading to a weakening in the final garment.
"This can happen, if the combination of heat, pressure and time is not properly controlled in the manufacturing process. The tight fitting ACTV jerseys are made of an elastane and polyester material mix.
"The defective material was used in only a limited number of Swiss home jerseys."
