Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has urged striker Jamie Vardy to complete his move to the Emirates.
The Gunners made an official approach to make the Englishman their second summer signing but he decided to leave for Euro 2016 without giving a reply.
Recent reports have claimed that Arsenal have offered the 29-year-old a three-year contract worth £120,000-a-week.
He is expected to take a final decision over his future at the end of the Euro 2016 Championship.
"There is no reason why it couldn't work out for Vardy," Pires told the Daily Mail.
"He scored a lot of goals in the Premier League last season and is now known around the world.
"He has the ability, comes across as very hard-working which Arsenal like, and he's a great finisher.
"There's a lot more pressure with playing for a big club, so it will be a step up."
