Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has played a role in Jamie Vardy's decision to leave Leicester City to move to the Emirates.
According to Goal, Wilshere convinced his England team-mate to leave the Foxes in order to make a move to Arsenal where he is expected to team-up with France's Olivier Giroud up front.
The 29-year-old has passed a medical with Arsenal according to reports and will become the club's second summer signing after the arrival of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Earlier this season, manager Arsene Wenger was full of praise for the striker, saying that he was worth at least £30million.
"He is worth £30m, because he is the best goal-scorer in the league," Wenger said at the end of last year.
"You have many players under him who have been paid much more, and who don’t score that number of goals."
