Club legend John Hartson says Arsenal need at least two defenders and a top class striker to be title contenders next season.
The Gunners announced the signing of Granit Xhaka on Wednesday morning but more players are expected to follow in what will be a busy summer transfer window for the club.
"Granit Xhaka is a top player, £30m is a big sum," Hartson told Starsport.
"They've been crying out for someone like him.
"Yes Wenger's had [Francis] Coquelin but the fans have been saying for ages that we need that strong midfield player.
"They still need defenders and they need a top class striker, all the top teams have one.
"Anthony Martial will do it for Manchester United over the next few seasons, Aguero at City, [Daniel] Sturridge could be the main man under Klopp at Liverpool.
"Certainly Arsenal need that and I think Arsene will go out a buy one.
"I think he'll spend a lot of money this summer and come back with a big title challenge next season."
