Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is ready to work extremely hard in training as he approaches his 30th birthday next month.
The Frenchman, who will turn 30 on September 10, says he is looking forward to a new challenge in his career.
And even though the Gunners kept a clean sheet at home against Liverpool, he was sorely missed at the heart of the defence as Arsenal's defensive department struggled in the first 45 minutes of the game.
"Whether you are a footballer or not, when you arrive at 30 it is a big moment," Koscielny is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
"For footballers it is very important because you are closer to the end of your career than the start. I feel like a young man. I'm nearly 30 but my body is ready to play more games, just the age has changed.
"I try to work hard every day for training and for the games. You know as you get older you need to work harder during training but also before and after the sessions, too.
"I see people like Petr Cech and Mikel Arteta, who always work hard before and after training. It can help your career.
"As a defender, you can be at a higher level around the age of 30 because you have more experience."
