Arsenal are ready to make Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema their most important signing of the summer.
The Gunners are determined to pay a club-record fee of more than £45m to secure the services of the Frenchman.
Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez made it clear that he will not sell any of his star players in the summer but reports in England claim that the player has already reached a verbal agreement with the North Londoners to move to the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Spanish football expert Graham Hunter told talkSPORT that the Spanish giants could be ready to sell the 27-year-old after their debts have grown to almost £350m.
"Arsenal have the money and Real Madrid need the money," Hunted said.
"They are 500million euros in global debt, they are trying to buy David De Gea and won't go the extra mile to get him off Manchester United because of the cash, so they need the money.
"And because Rafa Benitez will play 4-2-3-1 there is one less place for an attacking player than there was last season.
"It is a doable deal, but it won't happen unless Benzema says to Real Madrid: 'I want to go to Arsenal'."
