Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in £65m double swoop for German pair

By

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus and Schalke 04's Julian Draxler.

The Frenchman is ready to offer £50m to sign the 26-year-old offensive midfielder and £18m to secure the services of the 21-year-old midfielder.

Both players are also a target for Juventus although general director Giuseppe Marotta revealed on Wednesday evening that the Bianconeri are not close to completing the signing of the talented youngster.

"We made an offer [for Draxler]," Marotta is quoted as saying by TuttoJuve.com.

"But there's distance [between the two clubs]. Draxler is a very good player but he still belongs to Schalke 04.

"We're not in a particular hurry, we have already completed a good part of the job [in the transfer market]. We just miss the icing on the cake."
