Arsenal have discussed a swap deal with Roma that would see them sign Alessio Romagnoli in exchange for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, according to reports.
The Poland international lost his regular place in Arsene Wenger's squad at the start of the year and will leave the Emirates after the Gunners signed Petr Cech from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old is expected to join the Giallorossi on a season-long loan deal.
Romagnoli has been identified by boss Arsene Wenger as a possible target for the summer transfer window.
He is also a target for Chelsea if the Blues fail in their bid to sign John Stones from Everton.
