The agent of Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour says there was a misunderstanding about his client's desire not to feature in the Italian Serie A.
On Tuesday, Abdelkader Jilani made it clear that the 25-year-old was not interested in playing in Italy and that he only wanted to join a club in the Premier League or Spanish Liga.
But he corrected himself this morning, saying that the Tunisian would be more than happy to feature in the Italian championship.
The player is a target for a number of top European clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
"There was a misunderstanding, what I wanted to say is that there is no concrete offers from Serie A clubs, Jilani told Calciomercato.com.
"Abdennour is one of the best defenders in Europe so it's normal that he is a wanted player.
"We received offers from England and Spain. In Italy there was just contact, no official offers.
"Abdennour would love to play in Italy, it would be a dream come true. I mean, what player wouldn't want to play in Italy?
"But he's under contract [until 2019] so if a club wants to sign the player, then they have to make contact with Monaco.
"A move to Italy is a possibility, but there must be an important offer."
