Arsenal ready to battle Manchester United for £21.7m midfielder

By

Arsenal and Manchester United could be pipped to Grzegorz Krychowiak's signature by Real Madrid, according to Express Sport.

The Pole is one of the many summer targets for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger with Southampton also showing interest.

But according to Sevilla president Pepe Castro, the 25-year-old will almost certainly be a Sevilla player next season.

"Our idea is [someone pays his] release clause or nothing" Castro told the club's official website at the start of the month.

"We want to maintain our supremacy. We have made a sale that gives us peace and we do not need to sell any more players.

"Our idea is to keep all these players who have had a magnificent season.

"[Aleix] Vidal's selling has been, as you all known, for a fee above the market value.

"We are not going to sell easy but we are aware that in football you can never say never but you can say pay the release clause or nothing."
