Tomas Rosicky: We weren't at our best

By

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky joined manager Arsene Wenger in highlighting the importance of yesterday's win against Everton.

The 34-year-old, who made sure of the win with a brilliant strike from distance, revealed that the Arsenal players were below their usual best as a result of the Monaco defeat.

But the midfielder was pleased with the response and the win ahead of Wednesday's away trip to Queens Park Rangers.

"You could see that the lads were affected by it [the Champions League defeat] and the technical level of our game was not there," Rosicky told the club's official website.

"It was difficult as we were affected by the loss to Monaco but you go through disappointments throughout the season, you just have to fight through it.

"I'm glad we have these three points, it's very important for the confidence of the whole team.

"It was a difficult game. We weren't at our best after the disappointing night against Monaco, so it was very important to win and get the three points which we managed in the end."
