Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud was pleased with his brace in Arsenal's 2-0 win at the Emirates on Sunday.
The 28-year-old - who picked up his first brace for the Gunners in 2012 against Fulham - continues to be one of the most important players in Arsene Wenger's line-up.
And the Frenchman, whose only hat-trick in an Arsenal jersey came in the 1-7 win against Vietnam in pre-season of two years ago, was disappointed not to have a chance of scoring a hat-trick against Middlesbrough.
"I'm pleased we won," Giroud told the club's official website.
"I had two fantastic assists from Alexis [Sanchez] and [Kieran] Gibbs, we kept another clean sheet and we carry on in our good run and we want to keep that going.
"I knew that Alexis [Sanchez] would take the corner kick very quickly [when I scored the second] and I took advantage on my defender and it managed to go in.
"I have been waiting for a hat-trick for over two years now but the boss decided to take me off."
