Manager Arsene Wenger says Arsenal will approach Saturday's FA Cup away game against Brighton & Hove Albion aware of how tricky away cup games can be at this stage of the season.
The Gunners were in scintillating form last week against Manchester City and will be looking to extend their positive moment against Chris Hughton's side.
"We have to keep their strikers quiet," Wenger said.
"In the cup, you have to be ready from the start on and people like that can always surprise you if you're not ready.
"It's always difficult in the Championship away from home. I remember it was a very difficult game two years ago against a team who were on the way up with Gus Poyet. We needed to dig deep to get out with a positive result.
"Chris Hughton will give them his experience and his competence, of course. He knows how to prepare a team for a challenge like this.
"For us the challenge is to turn up with the same spirit and show that we can be consistent with our attitude game by game.
"In the FA Cup, God knows that is needed. We know that it will be another big challenge for us to go there and come home with a positive result."
The Gunners are yet to make an important signing during the winter transfer market but Wenger insists that the club is ready to sign important players, including Villareal's Gabriel Paulista.
"We are talking at the moment. Can we find an agreement or not? I don't know. We are slowly progressing but there's a chance," the Frenchman explained.
"We are ready to pay the price we think is right for a good player, no matter what the price is. If we think it's the right price we will pay.
"[The deal is] 50-50 at this moment. We respect the rules in England - when you buy a player who does not fulfill the criteria and needs a work permit, you go in front of a commission and they tell you yes or no. We will accept that."
