Roma coach Rudi Garcia has compared next week's derby against Lazio to a Champions League play-off.
Win over Udinese on Sunday night saw the Giallorossi move back to second place in the table on 67 points with Lazio keeping the pressure on 66.
Napoli can also join the battle if they beat Cesena on Monday night.
"We are supposed to give nothing away to opposition yet we gave away a cheap goal tonight," Garcia said.
"We had to take risks to win the game, after going a goal down we started to play without a net like they do at the circus, but that's the way you win.
"These three points are very important, we're halfway through our objective. The next half is next week [against Lazio].
"[Moving the derby?] There are rules and I see no reason to move the derby. Having said that, we can play at anytime, for sure is that we'll go out there to win.
"The derby is like a Champions League play-off and we want to prepare it in the best possible way."
