Coach Rudi Garcia admits Roma have to first keep their second place in the table before focusing on the title race.
The Giallorossi are ten points behind leaders Juventus after Massimiliano Allegri's men took all three points against Atalanta on Friday.
They face struggling Verona away from home on Sunday aware of the threat posed by in-form Napoli in third place.
"My main objective [at the moment] is to make sure the team doesn't lose confidence," Garcia said.
"We have to do our best to win our next game.
"Talking about winning the title is useless unless we win at least two games in a row. Right now we have to defend our second place, that's the only way how we can then attack the first spot.
"We have great players and great men in the squad but they shouldn't stop believing in themselves. Whatever happens they have to know that they can win games together and individually."
