Coach Rudi Garcia says Roma are determined to take the Italian Cup seriously ahead of tonight's game against Empoli.
After a disappointing start to the new year in the Serie A, the Giallorossi host Empoli with the Frenchman eager to see his players perform in the same way they did at the start of the season.
"They [Empoli] are very organised and dangerous, especially from set-pieces," Garcia said.
"They are doing well in the championship. But I will do my best to win the Italian Cup, no way we will neglect this competition.
"The first round [in the Serie A] was a positive one.
"We [crashed out of] the Champions League but we did well in the championship even if we drew way too many matches lately. This is why we need to get back on winning terms as soon as possible.
"We started badly in the last two games, we should be in control from the first minute, being more offensive to put pressure on the opposition.
"It was like that at the start of the season, we won our first five games, taking the lead in the first half and we now have to start doing the same."
Striker Mattia Destro was on target against Palermo on Saturday but reports of a possible move away from the club never seem to cease.
"He scored against Palermo and that's just what I wanted," Garcia explained.
"He scored despite touching the ball only three times. But we have other strikers in the team like the captain [Francesco Totti] and [Marco] Borriello who I don't use that much.
"We already played with Mattia and Francesco together but we need balance, understanding how fit and in-form both of them are. As long as Mattia is 100% prepared, I'm happy, he has to be 100% focused [on the game]."
