Roma coach Rudi Garcia says his side should have been more clinical in front of goal.
The Giallorossi could only manage a draw at home against a stubborn Milan side as they consolidated their second place in the Italian Serie A.
"All games are important, there's still a long way to go in the championship so nothing is decided yet," Garcia said.
"We failed to score, they defended well and [goalkeeper] Diego Lopez is strong. We lacked creativity, we should take more advantage of corner kicks, set-pieces and crosses.
"We missed [Miralem Pjanic] yes, his creativity helps us a lot."
Roma end the year three points behind leaders Juventus and the Frenchman says his players will now be given a much-needed rest before the new year.
"Ending the year three points [behind Juventus] after featuring in the Champions League is exceptional. As I told the players, they should now rest mentally so as to come back with the same fighting spirit."
