Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri says his side deserved to win today's game against Empoli as the Partenopei failed to register their first Serie A win of the season.
The last time Napoli failed to secure a win in their first three games of the season was during the 2000/2001 campaign as pressure mounts on the team.
They will host Club Brugge in Thursday's Europa League action before facing Lazio on Sunday evening.
"Compared to our first two games, the team is improving," Sarri said after the game.
"After a shaky first 30 minutes of the game, we produced a solid 70 minutes where we showed physical and mental improvement.
"For sure is that we have to concede less goals. The defensive department is still finding the right balance, we made a mistake in the early stages and conceded but I believe we're becoming more solid [at the back].
"I thought we could win in the second half but credit to Empoli because they started exceptionally well.
"In the last thirty minutes we opted for the 4-3-3 and we did well, it's a formation that we could adopt in the future."
