Napoli coach Rafa Benitez admits that his side made mistakes in their 3-1 defeat to Palermo on Saturday night.
It was a shock result for the Partenopei who have been one of the most performing teams in Italy in the new year.
And the Spaniard was bitterly disappointed for seeing his side's unbeaten run come to an abrupt end at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
"We made mistakes and we paid the price," Benitez said.
"If we analyse the game we would see that we conceded an unexpected goal after being in control of the game. We had chances to equalise but we made a mistake and we conceded the second.
"It's a shame, to lose like this after so many good performances in recent months.
"We knew Palermo could play with four at the back, we were ready for this formation. But I believe it wasn't the formation that affected the game, it was rather the episodes, like the first two goals, the result of our mistakes.
"Anyone can make a mistake, the goalkeeper's error [Rafael's mistake in the first goal] is always more visible but I have faith in him, in the same way I have faith in the whole squad.
"We will now analyse the game, our mistakes, there is still a long way to go this season and we have the Europa League coming up, which is what we have to focus on."
