Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi wants Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel to extend his loan with the club.
The 22-year-old struggled for form after suffering an injury after joining the Rossoneri but slowly became one of Inzaghi's key players in midfield.
Milan failed to qualify for next season's Europa League but are expected to make important signings during the summer to battle for the Serie A title next season.
"Unfortunately he is not our player," Inzaghi told Milan's official website.
"But he has grown a lot.
"He has played seven or eight games in a row and we are starting to see a great player. He does really well in training.
"Chelsea have great midfielders and he is in need of playing.
"My will would be if possible to keep him because he can give us a big hand."
