Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has rejected claims that his side will adopt a defensive approach against leaders Manchester City in tomorrow's early kick-off.
Spurs crashed out of the League Cup after suffering a home defeat against Arsenal in mid-week.
And although the Argentinean has admitted that his players were disappointed the defeat, he also explained that they are ready to bounce back in style.
"Our mentality to compete in this game," Pochettino said.
"It's true they [Manchester City] have great players but we are a team with quality as well and we can play face-to-face against them.
"Our mentality is important and we need to show that we can compete and try to win the game."
"It's true we were all sad the day after [the derby lost against Arsenal] because when you lose the derby, it's always a bad thing. In football, it's impossible to stop, you need to be ready for the next day.
"City have made a good start and this is an important game for us. We are ready for this game."
