Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino was proud of his players despite the 3-2 defeat against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Days after beating Arsenal in the North London derby, Spurs produced another brilliant offensive display against the Reds but failed to take anything away from Anfield as they drop to sixth in the table.
"It was a great game and a good performance but it's true it wasn't the same as the last game against Arsenal," Pochettino said.
"In the first half we gave away a lot of balls and gave the opportunity to Liverpool to counter-attack.
"At the end, in the last 10 minutes, I thought the game was finished and we deserved to take a minimum of one point from Anfield, but that's football and we have to accept it. It's unlucky for us.
"It's a shame but we have to keep working.
"We have a young squad, a young team and it's never easy to play again three days after such a big game at White Hart Lane, never easy to play another tough game like Liverpool.
"I'm a little sad because the effort was great from our players. I'm proud of them for their effort, just disappointed about the result."
