McGarry: I think Manchester United would have a very good chance of signing this Chelsea target

By

Ian McGarry believes Manchester United are in pole position to sign Chelsea target Danny Rose.

Speaking to the Daily Star, McGarry has claimed that the Tottenham Hotspur man would prefer a move to Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old left-back was criticised for comments he made in the Sun saying that Spurs need to sign well-known players and "not ones you had to Google".

Boss Mauricio Pochettino has accepted the player's apology but his future seems to be away from White Hart Lane.

"Rose is probably top of the available left-backs - if indeed he is available - in European football," McGarry said.

"I think Manchester United would have a very good chance of signing him.

"I think there is interest from Chelsea as well.

"But with Marcos Alonso playing in the left wing-back position and having a very good debut season under Antonio Conte last year, I doubt Danny Rose would tickle Chelsea as much as Manchester United."
