Manager Jose Mourinho has asked Manchester United to intensify their efforts to sign Fabino, the Sun has claimed.
The £40.6million-rated Portuguese has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the whole summer period.
Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have already joined the club but Mourinho wants two more players before the end of the summer transfer window.
Fabinho is a versatile player who can play as full-back but also in midfield.
At the end of last month, vice president Vadim Vasilyev rubbished rumours linking the player with United.
"Fabinho stays, he is an essential player in the midfield,” he said.
