Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo wants to return to England, according to Sky Sports.
The article claims that the Portugal international is upset for paying "more taxes that he should" in Spain.
He is accused of having evaded about £13million in tax by using three off-shore companies based in the British Virgin Islands.
Recent reports have claimed that Manchester United are eager to sign him back although manager Jose Mourinho called the operation "impossible" last month.
"We have never thought about it because he is such an important player for his club," Mourinho told reporters.
"He is of great economic power, where we have not been able to find a reason that could have made us think that Ronaldo could leave.
"I am not a defender of my club once you waste time on players who are mission impossible."
