Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says his side's penalty shoot-out victory over Real Madrid was "good training".
The Portuguese was full of praise for his players as he gave an update on Ander Herrera who only lasted six minutes against Zinedine Zidane's men.
"Good training [for us]," he told reporters.
"It was a very good first half against a top Real side. I think we lost motivation to play against their young players. We lost intensity, we lost appetite.
"I think the boys who played in the second half, they were disappointed not to play against Real Madrid's best players and best team. The second half was not good but overall I am happy again.
"I just feel sorry for one more injury [Ander Herrera] which I hope is not important.
"For Ander to come off after 10 minutes, it has to be painful. But sometimes painful doesn't mean there is a real problem, so let's wait/
"I always say to the players that you don't risk anything in friendly matches.
"If you feel something is coming, even if it is a little injury, get off because the result is not important. It was very painful, it was in front of the bench, it was a bad contact. Maybe it is his ribs but I don't know."
