Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Marco Verratti's representatives over potentially signing him this summer, Express Sport has revealed.
At the start of the summer, his agent made it clear that the Italy international wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain to join Barcelona.
And at the start of the month, the player himself apologised for his agent's comments.
"We've gone through some tough times over the last few days," Verratti told PSG's website.
"I saw what my agent said and I just wanted to say that they are not my words at all. And I want to apologise to everyone at the club, the president, the fans and the players."
But it seems that speculation surrounding the 24-year-old's future are not over.
The Red Devils are monitoring the situation and will make an official offer if the French giants decide to sell the midfielder.
