Manchester United are still a few million short of Internazionale’s asking price for Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, but those close to the deal expect it to be completed for a fee of around £45million to £50million over the next week, the Independent has claimed.
The Croatian is one of Jose Mourinho's main targets for the summer transfer window.
He has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer and it seems that the transfer will finally go through at the end of this week.
At the start of the week, Internazionale coach Luciano Spalletti confirmed that he will meet with the player in the coming days.
"I will speak to everyone and, of course, for those who are 'distracted' there will be different words," he told reporters.
"I will listen to him [Ivan Perisic]. I'm counting on him but we'll have to understand his intentions. It would not be nice for me to hear him say words like 'I want to leave'. We'll see.
"You keep talking about Perisic and his desire to leave but I need to listen to his own words first and then decide how to act.
"In any case, I will say this: we are Inter and we can choose to make different decisions to the ideas of the players.
"I hope to have him in the side, I am counting on it and I am positive in that sense."
