Manchester United are ready to focus their transfer efforts at signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl after failing to land either Nemanja Matic or Eric Dier, according to the Sun.
Manager Jose Mourinho has already signed a defender and a striker, if today's rumours on Romelu Lukaku are to be believed.
But he is desperate to also strengthen the midfield ahead of pre-season.
Weigl is also a target for Manchester City and Barcelona but with the youngster out injured until September they might decide to pull out of the race.
Mourinho's main targets for the midfield continue to be Nemanja Matic or Eric Dier but Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively are not interested in sitting down to negotiate a transfer.
If the Portuguese fails in his attempts to lure one of the two Premier League stars to Old Trafford, he would be interested in signing Weigl and wait for the youngster to recover from injury.
