Manchester United have been encouraged to make a move for Renato Sanches after Bayern Munich lowered the midfielder’s asking price, according to Metro.
The 19-year-old was not selected for the Confederations Cup in Russia and is instead in action with Portugal at the Under-21 European Championship.
He is available for £26million according to recent reports.
Last year, the Portuguese confirmed that he wanted to sign the youngster but signed for Manchester United when it was too late.
"I arrived late, I signed in May, we started talking a week before, but completely out of the process. If I had arrived earlier, I'd fight for him," Mourinho told SportTV.
"Manchester United watched Renato many times and maybe I did it even more. In so much time at home, I watched many Benfica and Portuguese league games, I got to know the boy better with time."
