Real Madrid will wait till Manchester United make their move for Alvaro Morata before setting the wheels in motion over Kylian Mbappe, the Sun has claimed.
According to the article, the Spain international will move to Old Trafford with the Spanish giants set to replace him with the young Frenchman.
Recent reports have claimed that the 24-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and will be Jose Mourinho's star signing in the offensive department.
Meanwhile, club legend Peter Schmeichel was full of praise for Morata.
"That is a very, very difficult question [to choose between Ronaldo and Morata]," he said on talkSPORT.
"It's a question with no answer. Obviously I would very much like to see Cristiano Ronaldo back at Old Trafford.
"I am struggling to see it happening, for me it looks like it's a political game where the pressure from the Ronaldo camp to Real Madrid is to 'sort this situation out for me, I never asked to get in this situation' and the club's probably part of that.
"It looks like they're sorting it out now but that would be a dream wouldn't it, Ronaldo back at Old Trafford."
