Manchester United have opened talks with Juventus over the transfer of defender Matteo Darmian to Turin.
The Italian is a target for the Serie A champions according to transfer market expert Gianluca di Marzio who claims that the two clubs are already negotiating.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a very positive second part of last season but recent reports have claimed that he wants to return to Italy.
At the start of the month he refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Old Trafford.
"Surely this is not the moment to talk about the transfer market," Darmian said.
"I wouldn't know what to answer.
"I have a contract with Manchester United, so let's see what happens.
"It's well known that playing at Manchester United brings with it a lot of competition so you need to accept the choices made, keep working as I did, and then I have reaped the benefits at the end of the season."
