Football expert Gabriele Marcotti says winger Ivan Perisic may not necessarily be what Manchester United need this summer.
The Croatian has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with recent reports claiming that Jose Mourinho is willing to double his wages to £100,000-a-week.
But Marcotti says the 28-year-old is sometimes inconsistent and may not fit in the Portuguese's setup.
"I think this has been driven by agents all along saying 'Mourinho loves Perisic, he really wants Perisic, they're going to spend £70-80million on him'," he told ESPN FC.
"And then as we reach crunch time the numbers seem to be getting smaller and smaller, there's big gaps in the supposed valuation.
"United see him reportedly as a sort of a £30million-type player, Inter want £45million or whatever it is.
"I think he's a useful player, when he's good, he's very good.
"But he's also 28 years old, he's been inconsistent and I really don't see him playing a position that is a pressing need for Manchester United right now. "
