Manchester United on the verge of completing signing of Liverpool target: the two clubs already have an agreement

By

Manchester United are in pole position to sign Liverpool target Victor Lindelof, Calciomercato.it has confirmed.

The Red Devils have already reached a preliminary agreement with Benfica although they are yet to agree personal terms with the player.

The 22-year-old was already a target for Jose Mourinho last season but he decided to stay in Portugal.

When asked about his future earlier this week, the Sweden international insisted that for now he is a Benfica player.

"There are rumours that there is always, at all times," Lindelof has said to VLT.

"I will say the same thing I always do, I have a contract with Benfica.

"I have played there for five years and really enjoy myself.

"I'm still young and I feel I'm developing all of the time, football down there gives me a lot.

"So my answer will always be that I get on very well at Benfica and that's where my focus is."
