Manchester United have confirmed on their official website that young striker James Wilson has left the club to join Derby County on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and will now be hoping to enjoy more regular first team football under Nigel Pearson.
Pearson was full of praise for the youngster after the transfer was completed as he described him as an "energetic player" who will add depth to the Rams' offensive department.
"We're delighted to have agreed to bring James Wilson the club on a season-long loan," he told the club's official website.
"I hope that this loan deal will prove to be mutually beneficial for all parties and I would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester United for allowing James to join us.
"He is an energetic player who will add to our existing attacking options."
