Manchester United have been given permission by Paris Saint-German to discuss personal terms with midfielder Blaise Matuidi, L'Equipe has revealed.
Recent reports have claimed that the 29-year-old will replace Bastian Schweinsteiger in Jose Mourinho's squad.
At the start of the week, the midfielder travelled to England to address his future before flying back to France to feature against Germany in the Euro 2016 semi-final.
Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin was full of praise for his compatriot as he described him as the most important player for Paris Saint-Germain.
"He is such a good player," he said.
"He is maybe not the grandest name in the PSG team but, in my view, he is the most important player in that team.
“He is now scoring goals, which completes his game."
