Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window, talkSPORT has revealed.
Everton and West Ham United have both been linked with a possible move for the 28-year-old.
The Spaniard endured a very disappointing campaign under Jose Mourinho during the 2013/2014 season and was sold to Manchester United during the January transfer window.
It is unlikely for the Portuguese to deploy Mata at Manchester United next season especially after the imminent signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Two years ago, Mourinho criticised the player for not doing enough defensive work in his team.
"It is one thing to play with Ramires and Oscar closing down opponents on each side, and Mata as a No10 behind a striker with his clever assists, clever passes and fantastic actions because he has great talent," Mourinho said when in charge at Chelsea.
"But it is another thing to adapt to the way we want to play," he added. "In this moment, Oscar is my No10 and, if anyone tells me Oscar has not been Chelsea's best player this season, I'd have to disagree. I have to prove to the fans that I am good. Now [Mata] must do the same."
