Manchester United have held talks to sign Basel striker Breel Embolo, Sky Sport Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed.
Together with Liverpool, the Red Devils have been linked with a possible move to sign the 19-year-old after it was claimed that new manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign him.
His style of play was often compared to that of former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba because of his pace and strength.
He has a market transfer value of £21million according to recent reports.
"Manchester United started talks only with Breel Embolo agent," Romano wrote on his personal Twitter account.
"Not yet with Basel. Just to ask informations about his future."
