Manchester United will explore the chances of signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane this summer, Mirror has reported on Thursday.
The central defender was signed by Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese was in charge of the Spanish giants.
And recent reports have claimed that he wants to give him a regular place in his defensive department at Old Trafford.
Earlier this year, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane made it clear that he doesn't want to sell the Frenchman.
"We have seen [in the press] that Mourinho wants him," Zidane said in March.
"It is normal. He knew him perfectly because he brought him to Real Madrid. I spoke to Mourinho when he was here [to advise him about his signing] but he made the decision to sign him.
"What I can say is that he is a Real Madrid player and I want him to stay with us all his life because he's the future of Real Madrid."
