Henrikh Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola says his client is desperate to leave Borussia Dortmund to join Manchester United.
The 27-year-old refused to sign a new contract with his club but the German giants are not ready to let him go this summer.
He will be a free agent next summer if he stays in the German Bundesliga and will be allowed to leave for free.
"Borussia Dortmund received an official offer for him," Raiola told ESPN.
"But they fear the reaction of their fans if they sell him, reason why they prefer to lose him for free next year.
"The Red Devils would be a unique opportunity for him. Mkhitaryan desperately wants to join Jose Mourinho."
