Jose Mourinho ready to let Manchester United defender leave Old Trafford

By

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to let Matteo Darmian join Juventus this summer, newspaper Tuttosport has revealed.

The Portuguese has already signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal as he intends to strengthen his defensive department.

Darmian, 26, enjoyed a very promising start at Old Trafford but struggled with fitness issues in the last part of the season.

In April, the Italian admitted that it has not been easy to settle down in England after making a switch from the Italian Serie A.

"I think for a player it's always difficult to change the culture and also to change the football because the Premier League is different from Serie A," he said.

"It's more physical and less tactical, all of the teams play stronger, but I try to adapt to this type of game and this type of football.

"Yes, at the beginning my football was very good but sometimes it can happen, a period when we aren't so good physically.

"Now, I'm focused on the end of the season, and that's it."
