Manchester United make £60 million bid to Real Madrid for world class striker

By

Manchester United are ready to offer £60 million to secure the services of Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez.

According to reports in Italy, new manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign the Colombian to replace Juan Mata, who is expected to leave in the summer.

At the start of the week, the 24-year-old rubbished rumours linking him with a move away from Spain but it seems Mourinho is determined to make an approach to understand if the Spanish giants would be ready to sell one of their key players.

"It has been a strange season. But you learn from it when bad things happen," James told reporters after the Champions League final.

"You never know what will happen in football, but my intention is to stay at Madrid.

"I want to stay at this club for many more years. I am happy at Madrid. This is the ideal club for me and I want to stay put."
